Early Life

Tommy Zhang, later known as Tommy Turbo, was born in Guangzhou, China, in 2012. From the start, Tommy was bursting with energy. His parents, Li and Wei, often joked that he learned to crawl, walk, and run all in the same week — and he never slowed down after that.

At school, Tommy’s ADHD made it difficult for him to sit still or focus on long lessons. He was constantly tapping his feet, drumming on desks, or racing through hallways. Teachers grew frustrated, but Tommy’s parents saw the truth: their son had more energy and enthusiasm than anyone they had ever met.

Moving to Shetland

When Tommy was nine, Wei was offered a role as an engineer on Shetland’s ferry network. The Zhang family moved from the crowded city of Guangzhou to the wide-open spaces of the Shetland Islands.

For Tommy, the move felt like a chance to breathe. Instead of being told to “slow down,” he found fields to sprint across, cliffs to climb, and bikes to race along quiet roads.

Discovery of Powers

One day, while sprinting along the coast during a storm, Tommy felt lightning crash in his chest. His legs carried him faster than the wind, his arms blurred, and in seconds he was miles away.

He had discovered his gift: super speed. His ADHD, once seen as a problem, was now his fuel. The faster his thoughts raced, the faster his body moved. With focus and training, Tommy learned to control his power — running across water, scaling walls, and even creating whirlwinds with his speed.

The Extraordinary Eight

When Tommy joined the Extraordinary Eight, he became the team’s engine. No one could match his pace. He carried messages, rescued teammates in the blink of an eye, and sometimes even distracted villains with a dizzying circle of super-fast laps.

His friends nicknamed him Tommy Turbo, and he wore the title proudly.

Legacy and Message

Tommy Turbo’s story shows that ADHD is not weakness — it is energy, creativity, and drive. He teaches children that their “restlessness” might just be untapped power waiting to be focused. His message: “Don’t slow down — find the speed that makes you fly.”
